IE7 is Coming!

By ian

Time for a break back into the geekiness.

The IE Development Team at Microsoft just announced that they are holding one last expert chat before IE7 is released. This is great news for most web designers and developers because IE7 is a vast improvement for CSS and has an integreated RSS reader that will help bring syndication to the average user.

Unfortunately, many of the comments on the blog post are very negative. The anti-Microsoft sentiment that many developers have is completely blinding them to the fact that it’s a vast improvement over IE6. This just proves that people will complain no matter what Microsoft does.

With IE7, they listened to feedback from developers, provided a public bug database, released a series of Betas and held a series of chats to connect with developers. Despite all that they’ve done right, they are still bombarded with criticism.

So, I say stop complaining. If you’re a web designer, embrace the new IE. Rejoice in the ability to use PNGs correctly, celebrate the better CSS support and be joyous about the new streamlined interface.
